Rural Lawyer Credit Policy

Terms and Conditions

By applying for the Rural Lawyer Credit, the lawyer agrees to the following terms and conditions:

  • The lawyer is practicing in the Province of British Columbia, in a city/town/municipality/district that is not included on the list of ineligible locations.
  • The initial $50 credit will be available only for new orders placed between July 2, 2009 and December 31, 2009 (or between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2010 for the 2010 credit).
  • The credit is non-refundable – there will be no cash refunds for unused credit.
  • The credit is non-transferable - unused credits may not be transferred or pooled with other firm members, or applied to another year.
  • This is a pilot program.  Changes will be made after evaluating the program.
  • The credit may be applied to research, database searches, copy cards and photocopy service.  The order will be delivered at no charge (by Canada Post, fax or email) if the lawyer is applying the charges to his or her credit.
  • If the credit is completely expended before December 31, 2009 (or December 31, 2009 for the 2010 credit), the lawyer will be invoiced for any charges over and above the $50 credit, along with the applicable delivery charges.
  • The lawyer must indicate that he or she wishes to use the credit at the time of placing the order.
