BC Legal Literature Index: What's Included

The BC Legal Literature Index provides access to articles in The Advocate, The Verdict, Essays in the History of Canadian Law, Legal Information Service Report, and to Section Papers of the Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch. Full text is available for order.

The Advocate (KA1 A31) is published by the Vancouver Bar Association and includes topical articles, biographical information on judges and lawyers, editorials, and book reviews. The index begins with volume 1 in 1943 and is current to the July 2010 issue.

The Verdict (KN380 A141 V47) is published by the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia and includes topical articles and biographical information on judges and lawyers. The index includes selected articles beginning with issue 16 in 1982 and is current to the Spring 2010 issue.

CBA Section Papers (KL111 B7 C36) are a selection of papers presented to members of the various sections of the B.C. Branch of the Canadian Bar Association. Indexing begins with 1988 and is current to 2004. For papers written after 2004 see the Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch's website.

Essays in the History of Canadian Law (KL410 E87) is a selection of papers on the history of Canadian law published from 1981 to 2008.

Legal Information Service Report (KM208 I5 U55) is a selection of papers on native law issues produced by the University of Saskatchewan Native Law Centre from 1979 to 1986.
