BC Floods Financial Assistance Available

We know many of your communities were and continue to be affected by flooding this spring. The BC government has now made Disaster Financial Assistance available to those affected by flooding events between April 27 and May 16 in the southeast and central areas of the province; a full list of communities eligible is available in the BC government’s news release.

This financial assistance is available to homeowners, residential tenants, business owners, local government, Indigenous communities, farmers, corporation owned properties, and charitable organizations that were unable to obtain insurance to cover disaster-related losses.

Applications are available online and must be submitted within 90 days of the disaster event. Indigenous communities and local governments that experienced infrastructure damage from the flooding are invited to submit a local government financial assistance application as soon as possible.

If you want to learn more about eligibility criteria, you can check out the BC Government page on Disaster Financial Assistance or get in touch with them by phone at 1-888-257-4777.
