Chief Judge Gillespie has issued a revised Access to Court Proceedings Policy, effective today, October 15, 2020. The revised Policy now specifically references virtual court proceedings in the “Purpose of Policy” section and the preamble under “Policy”. A new section 1 and section 2.4 on how members of the public and media can access virtual hearings has also been added to the Policy. At this time, only judicial interim release (bail) hearings, unless a judge or justice orders otherwise, and some criminal disposition hearings are virtual hearings accessible through the process set out in section 1.
