The Legal Archives
Last revised July 19, 2022

The Legal Archives is an initiative started in 1988 to celebrate the centennial year of the Law Society of BC.  Its purpose is to preserve historical records relating the development of the legal profession and judiciary in BC and consists of a variety of materials including letters, minutes, diaries, memoranda, photos, film, maps, plans and drawings.

Originally housed in Courthouse Libraries BC, the collection is now maintained by the Law Society of BC. A searchable database of the records is hosted by MemoryBC and can be found at the link in the references below. For more information about the archive holdings and access, contact the Law Society of British Columbia.
