The Starter Legal Display Kit is back!

LawMatters and Legal Aid BC have joined forces again to bring you an updated kit for 2021. For those who may not already have a kit in their library, the Starter Legal Display Kit provides you with publications from Legal Aid BC, in the form of print booklets and handouts. The purpose of promoting handouts in a legal display is to provide another access point for patrons: access to print information they can take away for themselves. And best of all – it's free!

The order form includes titles, subjects, dimensions, and currency dates - plus they are grouped together into a 'Basic Kit' and subject specific add-ons, making it easy to order! Multilingual options are also listed - you need only check off which ones you would like.

Basic Kit includes freebies on:

  • General Legal Aid

  • Aboriginal Law

  • Family Law

  • Family Violence

  • Child Protection

  • Criminal Law

 Specialized add-ons include:

  • Aboriginal Law titles

  • Abuse & Family Violence

  • Immigration

  • Family Law

  • Multilingual options

  • Parents Legal Centre materials (available to libraries in communities with Parents Legal Centres)

All you need to do is download the order form, fill out your library’s information and send your form to us at lawmatters@courthouselibrary.ca and your selected materials will be sent directly to your library. If you have any questions, contact us at the email above or at publications@lss.bc.ca

Please note that this is for public libraries only.

We hope this will be a great start or addition to your legal display. No matter your library size or budget, give a legal display a try!

Currently this kit includes Legal Aid BC publications only. You can add other publications (from People’s Law School, for example) to your Starter Display or re-stock titles from Crown Publications

This service is available for only a limited time.
