This session explores challenges posed by the rapid advancement of Generative AI technologies to the admissibility and interpretation of digital video evidence in criminal trials. It queries whether the current admissibility regime under the CEA is adequate to meet the challenge of real and alleged deepfake fabrication of video evidence.
