Courthouse Libraries BC and the Criminal Defense Advocacy Society presents: Artificial Intelligence use in Criminal Law and Policing: Ensuring Accountable Governance.

From facial recognition to predictive policing to social media analysis to robots, we will explore the growing ways that artificial intelligence is being deployed by police and used by criminal justice professionals around the world. We will touch on related concerns about privacy, human rights, and accountability. We will cover generative AI in legal research and writing, how the justice system should deal with “deepfakes” and hallucinations, and we will  discuss various approaches to governing police use of AI.

Participants may claim 1.5 CPD credits.
