The improvements you asked for are coming soon to our public access computers

If you do your own legal research, you may have already used one of our 100 public access computers (PACs) in our courthouse library locations. Well, we’ve got great news for you – and for future PAC users – we are about to launch user-friendly changes on the computers! They will still contain the tools you need for doing your own legal research, such as the legal databases that CLBC subscribes to, but you will now find the landing page far more intuitive, and navigating to what you need will be that much simpler.

We are going to roll-out the changes in different PAC locations over the next month or so. A slower roll-out by library location gives us a chance to more quickly deal with any technical issues that may arise.

We acknowledge that as useful as our public computers were before, they needed improving. With that in mind, we determined what people had the most trouble with, redesigned the landing page and its functionality, and tested the new design with users to make sure we got it right. We think we did!

Here’s a sneak peek of the launch page:

We’re looking forward to sharing the improvements with you soon. And if you haven’t already used a public access computer to do legal research, come into one of our 30 courthouse libraries and try one out for yourself!
